Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, a neurologic disease characterized by loss of mental ability severe enough to interfere with normal activities of daily living. Our care team will help develop a comprehensive care plan to maximize your loved one’s quality of life.
When a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia, the simple activities of daily living become a challenge. Shorecare understands the importance of keeping your loved one at home. We make sure that your loved one is taken care of both physically, mentally, and emotionally by offering continuity care services that feature the same friendly caregiver. Shorecare is an approved provider of the Alzheimer’s Association and provides every caregiver with no less than annual education on Alzheimer’s and dementia specific care. We strive to maximize your loved ones comfort in their own home and support their independence for as long as possible.
Shorecare’s nurses, caregivers, and office staff will work to design a customized care plan that meets the needs of your loved one, this includes the following activities or services.
- Maintain a safe environment
- Manage changing behaviors
- Provide nutritious meals
- Provide mind-stimulating activities
- Create social interaction
- Supervise daily activities
- Personal Hygiene (bathing, oral care)
- Toileting and/or Incontinence care
- Redirection (redirecting conversation without contradicting)
- Memory Cues (verbal, visual, auditory)
Our care teams can provide in-home services for as little as 1 hour to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, depending on your specific needs. We understand the unique challenges that entail caring for a loved one in the home, that is why we provide flexible scheduling and will work one-on-one with you to schedule the care you and your loved one deserve.
